Fun Runs are the foundation for our exercise programs and events and provide AKC Lure Course-based activity that taps into a dog’s prey drive and herding instincts. From lap dogs to large dogs, Fun Runs provide high-energy exercise as dogs chase the lure at varied speed and direction, stimulating body and mind as well as socialization, if desired.

Alpha Dog’s exercise programs and activities can be helpful in the elimination of unwanted behaviors in most dogs. Pent up energy manifests itself in “bad” behavior. Our three- and six-month programs provide weekly evaluation of behavioral changes.

My German shorthaired pointer, Gracie, was introduced to the lure course at the Chester Dog Fair in 2023. It was the best thing ever! I have never seen her run so fast and be so attentive to the little white rag that she was chasing. I visited the Alpha Dog Sunday Fun Runs at Larkin's Run in Durham, CT and my dog was so excited when we pulled into the parking lot. It is an amazing activity for extremely active dogs, it really keeps them focused and gets a lot of their energy out. We cannot wait to go back again!

My rescue dog, Howie, has high energy and loves to run. My pet sitter mentioned something about a course for dogs who have high energy and need an outlet. I found Alpha Dog Events and Adventures was the course operator and we were hooked after the first run. I've never seen Howie run so fast! Not only is the course good for him physically, but it engages his mind and provides great stimulation as he anticipates which way the lure will go. On days we attend the Fun Runs, Howie is mellow and tired when we go home. I'm so thankful we found Ralph and his team.

Ruger is the sweetest pittie but he is VERY high energy. I saw an event on Bring Fido.com and wanted to try it out. Ruger has done Fun Runs and PDP Sessions and they are amazing! Ralph is so good with all of the dogs and Ruger gets so excited when he sees him! Since Ruger started doing Fun Runs regularly, his personality has mellowed and he is much less reactive at home, not barking at everything that passes the house. He sleeps like a baby for a day or two after his Sunday runs. We can't wait for the season to start up again!
